Ultra 2 “Make it Right” Angle Adapter for the Volt – VERSION #1

I have always made gadgets and modifications for myself.  I am now starting to make some of them available to other operators.

This adapter will correct your Ultra 2, or the first version of the M1 Yoke (only the original version) handle with the Volt to 90 degrees. The factory angle is 68.2 degrees.  The first version of this adapter provides the additional 21.8 degrees Watch the short video to see how easy it is to install and how it corrects the angle of the Volt… BUT:

UPDATE:  After installing one of these Production adapters on my Steadicam, I realized there is another factor at play – there is a noticeable twisting of the arm sections under load, and in the most common operating positions the load on both sections of the arm is sideways and that causes the post angle to deflect towards the yoke.  I measured the resulting angle of the Volt and it averages between 5.5 to 6 degrees past horizontal.  This means that this first design “over-corrects” slightly.  A better angle for my adapter would be about 16 degrees.  SO:

I will reduce the price of this first batch to $150.00 to cover my cost and give anyone who wants to improve the angle of the Volt to a within a few degrees from horizontal a more affordable purchase.  I suspect many operators won’t mind the slight offset, but if you want an adapter that comes closer to horizontal, I will post when the next version is available!

I am considering making similar versions for other yokes as well, but this time I will take arm deflection into consideration. They are CNC milled from 6061 and anodized black. They are VERY easy to install, or remove in the future.
